My wife and I were privileged to visit Stonehenge back in 2002, so it has always had a place in my heart. It is quite amazing that something built more than 5000 years ago still stands today.
Here are some of the great things I learned about Stonehenge:
- The Aubrey circle, built of 56 holes in a circle outside the most notable Sarsen Circle, is actually a calculator when used correctly will determine the exact date of solar and lunar eclipses with 99.8% accuracy.
- Bonnie Gaunt, using the Gematria value of "Lord Jesus Christ" (3168), believes that Stonehenge is a message from God verifying his existence. She says this because she calculates four times the diameter of the earth at 3168 mi, the combined distance from each planet to the sun is 31,680 mi. and the circumference of the Sarsen Circle to be 316.8 ft.
- I do not necessarily agree with this because: the average earth diameter is 7918 X 4 = 31, 672 mi, the Sarsen Radius is 52.2 ft = 327.8 ft circumference and I do not see why God would use British measurement to communicate to humanity.
- Bonnie also thinks that the station rectangle, a rectangle made by four stones in the Aubrey circle which align with the rising and setting of the sun and mood at different times throughout the year, when bisected points at 117 degrees off of north to the Giza Pyramid at Khufu.
- I give her that as the surveyed location of of the stones which are gone or have been moved over time vary (117, 117.1, 117.2, 117.38 and 117.415 degrees) and the actual angle to Khufu is 118.130 to 118.22 degrees depending on who is measuring. I can see the probablility of the Pyramid alignment. BTW, the distance is 2234.309 mi.
- This got me to thinking about what bisecting the rectangle the other way would reveal. Using gross estimation I discovered that the line travels south into Africa and could align with two villages in the middle of the Algeria in the Sahara (El Golgea or Laghouat [near Messad]). If you bisect each leg of a giant triangle as in the below image, the nexus is somewhere in the Mediterranean near Sardinia (ancient Tyrrhenia) which was at one point in history a potential location of Atlantis.
- I found it even more coincidental when I was referred to a book about Cleopatra Selene (meaning moon) II or VIII, the daughter of Cleopatra VII and Mark Antony, potentially spending most of her life in the British isles and may have influenced Stonehenge. I learned that her husband, with whom she is buried back in Egypt, was Jubba II, King of the Moorish empire at the time which encompassed Algeria and most of the Sahara.
I really enjoyed researching and giving the presentation.
