8/15/2008 - Olympic Love

Guo Chunning, the creator of the Dancing Beijing symbol said "We...should love our earth...otherwise it will be destroyed one day so we should try our best to promote the concept of love by all kinds of means"

Then he said when signing a painting to a friend "the sun and the moon will always align again even if the world must start over"

I thought these were nice things to say and I felt they were important to share.

8/09/2008 - Rosy Cross

I have been looking online and at different stores around town for what I would consider the perfect addition to my collection of spiritual articles. My search has lasted three weeks and I still had not found exactly what I needed. I was looking for a stand-up cross (symbolizing the physical body or humanity) with a rose or flower in the middle (symbolizing enlightenment or connection to the ethereal/universe/God). I just had not found the cross that I felt represented me and I had finally decided that I would stop looking so hard and let it just come to me.

Today my wife son and I were driving in Placitas and saw a few signs for a village wide flea market. I had a feeling, somewhere in my heart, that I would find it there, and had to stop see if it was true.

I pulled up next to a table and spied what I thought was a cross sitting there. I got out of the car and walked up to a stand up cross with a red five-petal flower in the middle colored in southwestern styles. It seemed to be made in a Mexican tradition popular in New Mexico. As everyone was packing up when I approached, the man at the table told me that he would give me a bargain. It was listed at $22 and I only had $11 in my pocket. "Give me $10." he offered.

I am now the proud owner of the perfect missing Rosy Cross!

8/07/2008 - Solving the World's Problems

I walked into a cube of a friend today who knows nothing of the discussions I had with Leo mentioned in the 7/31 post. When he saw me he said "Jayson, how is solving the worlds problems going?"

I could not help but smile.

Tomorrow is 8/8/8...how fun. I cannot help but wonder what the Universe has in store for me on that seemingly auspicious day.

On a different note, my car would not start this morning. I spent thirty minutes cleaning the leads and poles on the battery to no avail. I finally had to jump my car with my wife's vehicle. It turned over fine and after running for a few minutes it came back to life when I shut it off and back on. I decided to drive into work this morning instead of taking the bus.

When I came out after work, my battery was dead. I got a jump from my friend and drove home planning to pull out my battery and go buy another.

I pulled up to a light and saw a work truck with a battery in the bed. The battery had a big "65" on the label. I thought that was weird so I tried to figure out if there was anything else going on in the scene. I looked at the license plate, which was JAK 010. I refer to my best friend as Jayko often and tried to figure out the message (if any). I called him and left a voicemail just in case.

I came home, pulled out the battery, placed it in the back of my wife's car and went to the battery shop. Once I purchased a new battery and went to collect my old one from my wife's trunk and found it had fallen on its side and spilled battery acid all over the carpet. Thankfully the removable carpet soaked it all up and it did not go through to the upholstered carpet underneath.

I would not consider this a 'bad' day, just interesting. I did have fun working on the car and it seems to be working fine now :)

8/06/2008 - Sneaking Suspicion

It has been slow since the last entry. I have not detected much synchronicity, but otherwise have had a great week.

Yesterday I had a conversation with a coworker about joining a shotgun charity golf tournament. I told him that I was good and shot an 86 the other day. He was impressed until I told him it was on the front 9!

He continued to explain to me that most courses have a 72 par. I had never put that together only ever playing 18 holes once.

Today I was driving home from work and heard an advertisement on the radio for a golf course up north. The pitch was something like "Come play golf where our average temperature is the same as our par...72."

I thought to myself, "I just find out something yesterday that I never knew before and I hear it again only 24 hours later...what was that about?" (Synchronicity #1)

I continued on my way stopping to get gas. While in the convenience store I saw an old friend I have not seen in over a year. We catch up and part ways. (Synchronicity #2)

I was driving northbound, speedily as usual, when I noticed a police car coming south down the street. I slowed down significantly and my heart raced slightly, but the car did not turn around. I responded with speeding back up to the usual 15 to 20 miles over the limit and then noticed to my surprise that another police car as sitting on the opposite side of the street in what looked like a speed trap. Again I slowed down quickly. It really got my heart pumping when I saw his lights flash on even before I passed him. I saw him pull out, lights blaring, in my rearview mirror, but he continued down the road traveling south. I found this very curious and thought to myself that this was no coincidence. Remembering the rule of three's I slowed down to the limit for the rest of my trip and kept my eyes peeled. (Synchronicity #3)

When I turned up a road near my house that I usually blast through because of its roller coaster like berms, I just "knew" that there was a similar speed trap somewhere along the way. It was then that I noticed a small white crossover van parked inconspicuously behind a large bush on the side of the road. It was an APD mobile speed monitoring van complete with camera and radar gun.

I could not help but feel that the universe was conspiring to help me through the expense and trouble of getting a speeding ticket. I thanked the cosmos for my good fortune and my ability to decode all these signs. I guess I should slow down just a little bit huh?

8/01/2008 - First Yoga

I finally had a chance to go Yoga. It was interesting, painful, relaxing and generally not a bad experience. I felt great afterword. The bad thing about it was each time I would switch from Cobra to Downward Dog, my head ache, now four months gone, would come back with a vengeance.

I think it was due to my head facing down. I am going to either look forward on any following Downward Dogs or just do Child's Pose (Really easy!!)
